WE'RE GOING BANANAS!
Do you know how bananas grow?
Have a guess.
Is it in the ground under the soil?
Is it on a tree?
Or is it under water?
Well, it’s on a plant that looks a bit like a tree!
Bananas grow in warm, tropical weather, and so they travel a long way to get to our supermarkets.
Which of these countries do you think bananas come from:

Colombia?
Philippines?
Ghana?

Actually bananas grow in all these countries!
We want poor farmers who grow bananas in places like Ghana and the Philippines to get a fair wage for their crop. That’s why we support Fairtrade. You can buy Fairtrade bananas in most supermarkets.
And bananas are very good for you.
They have lots of things your body needs to be healthy.
